Targeted thermal imaging helped uncover a hidden historic leak beneath a client’s kitchen sink, leading to timely repairs and long-term peace of mind.

A homeowner reached out to us after detecting a persistent damp smell in their kitchen. The odour was most prominent inside the kitchen units and beneath the sink. Concerned about the possibility of mould growth and its potential health impact, they sought professional help to identify the root cause.

Our Response

We attended the property promptly and carried out a full inspection of the affected kitchen area. To avoid invasive damage and achieve accurate results, we utilised thermographic imaging equipment to scan the walls and pipework beneath the sink. This non-intrusive technique allowed us to detect concealed moisture build-up behind surfaces that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.

Thanks to the accurate identification, the client was able to engage a qualified plumber to address the issue before any further decorative or remedial work was carried out.
